Who we are
We are not a charity. We are a system.
Msitu360 is a Zambian non-profit operating at the intersection of child nutrition, women’s livelihoods, and circular economy. Every programme we build is, structurally, a jobs programme
FEEDING MSITU
Feeding Msitu is a school feeding programme employing paid, trained Zambian women to cook and serve nutritious meals to children daily. Currently feeding an average of 150 children every school day at Chainda Community School, Lusaka. Scaling to 20 schools by 2031. Mama Msitu is not a volunteer. She is a paid, trained, certified woman with a job.
Twapeza is a solar-powered, zero-waste circular food factory in development on the Lobito Corridor. Mango-first. Single-product model. Carbon credit revenue stream built in. A planned network of five factories across Zambia. Once produce enters our factory, everything becomes product.
The Msitu Ladder Institute of Community Development is a four-tier residential leadership programme designed to build the next generation of African women leading in food systems, community development, and economic transformation. Leadership is not a reward. It is a skill we teach.
We didn't arrive at this work through theory. We arrived through years of watching well-meaning interventions fall short.
Awareness campaigns that didn’t move people. Education programmes that couldn’t compete with hunger. We kept asking: what actually works? The answer, every time, was economic dignity. A job. An income. Agency.
That is the founding logic of Msitu360.
What we believe
Our strategic difference lies in Our difference is simple: we build programmes that create real jobs for African women. The meals, the nutrition outcomes, the school attendance those are the proof. The jobs are the product.

We start where Wawira Njiru started. In Zambia. With 150. Wawira Njiru built Food4Education from 25 children to 200 million meals over 13 years. We know the path. We are walking it.
Programmes, not projects, Built to outlast their funding. We do not run campaigns. We do not pilot initiatives. We build programmes with paid staff, replicable systems, and a plan to scale.
